If I had lots of money, I could build myself a beautiful home with everything I’ve ever dreamed of, and do it all with eco-friendly, environmentally responsible, and fair trade materials. I could decorate and design without wondering if I was contributing to child labor, supporting countries guilty of human rights abuses,  companies with wasteful or polluting manufacturing methods….

…but I don’t have lots of money.  My husband and I are your average middle class couple. We live in a 2-family house in the Boston area with our two cats.

This blog will document my quest to be as eco-friendly and humanity-friendly as possible, without using a single credit card or driving my husband crazy.  Along the way, I may even actually hug some trees.

 

(also, I am in the process of founding a non-profit to provide funds and supplies to a school for disabled children in the Democratic Republic of Congo, so I talk about issues related to that sometimes, too)
